Want to know where all the best sunbeams are?  Ask me...I am Scooter and I am always working on my tan.  I am 11 years old and I lost my family when they split up; their loss.   My parents came to drop me off at the vet's office with my brother and sister and my adventure began.  My sister was adopted almost right away and my brother, Lucky just found a home recently with a really great family.  All thanks to my friends at Dachshund Rescue of Bucks County & NJ.  They are the best!

Like all the doxies that come to DRBC, I got  to see the regular veterinarian and then, because I am such a cute and special guy, I got to see a specialist over at the Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center [I call them VSEC because we are such tight friends].  Maribeth Bossbaly, VMD, DACVIM checked me out.  She said I have a bum ticker; something with my valves not working right.  Great.  Now I need a best friend with an extra watch.  Figures.

I live at the DRBC Sanctuary home and I am one special and loved guy.  Every morning I remind Mom that new comforters are needed in all the right sunspots.  I speak right up at dinner too.  No need to keep something as important as that on hold.  My brothers and sisters really appreciate that;  Mom, not so much, but what the heck..I am special, right?

So if this was Oprah, this is where she would ask me why someone would want to be a Best Friend.  I would have to say 'Are you kidding me?!'  Who wouldn't want to help needy dachshunds?  Come on, if I were a people, you know I would help.  The love and support I get at Dachshund Rescue of Bucks County & NJ is really important, so please become a Best Friend.  You will never regret helping, really. 

Scooter is a confident and loving little guy.  He never lets his bad heart slow him down.  When not enjoying his sun beam, he loves to shake up his toys and play a limited game of fetch.  He is something very special.  Supporting Scooter is a joy and a form of entertainment all in one.  DRBC is happy to be able to provide sanctuary, shelter, medical support and love to Scooter and his buddies in our Best Friends Program for the rest of their lives.  We hope you will join their cause.
