When A Loved One Passes

We are frequently asked why the loss of our pets is so difficult for us.  There is no right answer; loss and the grief, which follows, is a very personal thing.  It would be impossible for DRBC as a group not to acknowledge the passing of those so close to our hearts.  We experience the finality of life all too often in our senior home.  We have established this page as a resource for those in need.  DRBC is so sorry for your loss.

Hamilton Pet Meadow remains a comfort to DRBC in its time of need.  Please reach out to them and to the grief counseling resources they provide.

On behalf of our family here at DRBC to yours,  please accept our condolences on the loss of your beloved friend.  In time, you will find the peace you believe may be just out of reach right now.

We know how you feel and have felt the same way ourselves.  One way we as a group have found to help us through this tough time is to let as many family and friends as possible know that our little one is gone.

Please click on the In Memorium icon above if you would like us to post your special pet on our memorial page.  Sometimes it can help.  Need additional information or help.  We are here.

Edgar came to DRBC starved and neglected.  He had been abandoned for 3 months with no food or water.  The Sherrifs saved him when they came to claim the home.  It took Eggy over a year to recover into the beautiful standard doxie you see above.  Four more years would pass with him in our care before he made his journey over the bridge.  He was 17 yrs old.  We will forever remember Edgar, the gentle giant that touched all our hearts.  You are missed Eggy.
