There are so many ways to get involved and support the volunteer work we do here at DRBC.  Some programs ask of your time, some your support, but all present you with an opportunity to help a needy dachshund find their forever home.

What can you do? Here are some thoughts:

Give of Your Time & Talent

Volunteering is a great way to help. We invite you to share in the joy and satisfaction that comes from giving whether you can give a few hours each month or a few days each year.

DRBC offers a volunteer position for every time and talent.

Another great way to spread the word about DRBC to others is to post a link to DRBC on your website, your company's website, in your personal or work blog, in your outgoing e-mails — it's up to you!

Thank the click sponsors at The DRBC Rescue Site.

These are the companies who pay for the food and care generated from your clicks. 100% of sponsor advertising fees goes to charitable partners, like DRBC. Let them know that you appreciate their sponsorship of your clicks — and keep them in mind when you are ready to purchase an item or service that they provide. You can see who our site sponsors are each day by clicking on the Affilates Tab at the top of this page.

Tell potential sponsors about DRBC.

The greater the number of sponsors or Affiliates the site has, the more food and care for animals in need will be funded with each click. Please feel free to share our message.

Tell friends, family and colleagues about The DRBC Rescue Site.

By spreading the word, you'll help increase the number of visitors to The DRBC Rescue Site and the amount of funding generated for food and care. Word of mouth — telling 5 friends who tell 5 friends — is a powerful way to help animals in shelters and sanctuaries.

Make The DRBC Rescue Site your home page and visit daily.

Hold A Fundraiser

Collect Change
Collecting change is a great way for students to raise money for the DRBC. It’s easy to add some enhancements, such as getting local businesses to donate prizes (perhaps an ice cream or a pizza party) to the class that raises the most change, or even match the total your school raises.
Have A Birthday Party
Teaching soical responsibility and community support is great at any age.  Make a donation, visit our wishlist or come up with your own gift or party favor ideas to help our doxies.

Host An Event
A fundraising event can be a big hit for Dachshund Rescue. Again, this category knows few boundaries and can range from elaborate to simple. Golf tournaments, gala balls and run/walk events are popular fundraisers. On the more grassroots side, concerts, bake sales and bachelor auctions are effective fundraisers.

Casual/Dress Down Day
Giving people a chance to ditch their uniforms, neckties or hosiery can be a smart way to raise funds. This idea works well both in the office environment and at schools: You can have your co-workers donate $5 or more to dress down, or ask your teachers for donations of $1 or more. You can also make it a weekly or monthly event to keep your efforts going throughout the year.

You Tell Us
At DRBC we are always looking for ways to meet the medical needs of our beloved breed.  Have a great ideat idea and want to see it posted here?  Send us an email at info@doxierescue.com, then watch this spot.

Become A Foster Home

Everyone involved in animal rescue is making a commitment to that animal. Dachshund Rescue of Bucks County is committed to the search for an appropriate, suitable, loving and permanent home for each dog. We are committed to their heath and well-being.

Our Fosters make a huge commitment as well. We also ask that our adopters commit to the dog they adopt for life. It is often a, seemingly, thankless task.

We are all volunteers who frequently have trouble comprehending why humans behave the way they do sometimes, especially when it comes to the way they treat or regard animals. It can be frustrating, time consuming, exasperating, enraging, exhausting and all consuming. Many times the only thanks lay in our successes.

For every dog that would have otherwise met with an unthinkable fate, we have our entire volunteer staff to thank for the successful outcome.
