| They come from everywhere in our region and get the special care they can only receive at a place like the Dachshund Rescue of Bucks County & NJ’s Sanctuary. |

Welcome to the Best Friend Program Here on DRBC’s Best Friend webpages, we showcase just some of the special needs doxies at the sanctuary who are benefiting from your help.
Who are the animals receiving Best Friend's care? Most have suffered serious trauma – physical or emotional, or have painful or debilitating conditions that can require expensive medical care. We tell their ongoing stories over time with weekly updates from our veterinary staff and caregivers. You can follow their stories from the beginning, watch their progress, even apply to adopt!
Some recover quickly and don't need to stay at the sanctuary for the rest of their lives. This is why we don't ask people to sponsor them individually. The Best Friend program is really about helping them get the extra care they need when they arrive, whatever that is, getting them back to good health and then placing them in a very good home. We continue to follow their stories even after they've been adopted!
For those that do require long-term – perhaps lifelong – care at the sanctuary, you will be helping them live the very best life possible.
Wish there was a place you could go to talk about all of the great stories you just read on the Best Friend website? Now there is! The Best Friend network community is a great new place to interact with other animal lovers just like you.
